OK4WD, a leading retailer of off-road and overland vehicle parts and accessories, was facing the limitations of their aging Magento platform. The cost of maintaining the platform was increasing, updates were becoming complex, and the site's user experience didn't reflect their brand's expertise or cater to their passionate customer base. They needed a solution that would not only reduce their total cost of ownership but also empower them to create a more engaging and conversion-focused online experience. Their primary goals were:
- Reduce Cost of Ownership: Migrate from Magento to a more cost-effective and scalable platform.
- Improve User Experience: Enhance the site's design, navigation, and overall user journey to drive conversions and increase average order values (AOV).
- Enhance Merchandising Capabilities: Gain more control over product presentation and implement effective merchandising strategies to highlight their extensive product catalog.


Solution:
Jamersan partnered with OK4WD to tackle their online retail challenges, devising a comprehensive solution that centered around a strategic migration to the robust and adaptable BigCommerce platform. This was coupled with a complete website redesign and the implementation of advanced merchandising techniques to elevate the customer experience and drive sales.
The first phase involved a complex migration from OK4WD's previous platform to BigCommerce. This process began with the preparation & transformation of all critical data, including product information, customer details, order history, and SEO elements, ensuring a seamless transition without any loss of valuable information.
Jamersan then designed and developed a custom BigCommerce theme that accurately reflected OK4WD's brand identity while providing a modern and user-friendly interface. Recognizing the importance of mobile accessibility, a mobile-first design approach was adopted, ensuring a seamless shopping experience across all devices.
A key element of the new theme was the implementation of an intuitive navigation system and mega menus designed to support the various ways customers might think about offroading products (e.g. by activity, vehicle, or product category). The goal is to expose customers to more products and categories by encouraging exploration. In an accessory-heavy activity like offroading, this type of exploration is important for driving AoV.
Product pages were also completely redesigned to showcase high-quality images, detailed descriptions, customer reviews, and related product recommendations, encouraging exploration and informed purchase decisions.
Visual merchandising throughout the site was elevated through the use of high-quality product photography and lifestyle imagery, showcasing products in action and inspiring customers. This includes the creation of custom brand landing pages that enables OK4WD to tell those brand stories.



RESULTS
The collaboration between OK4WD and Jamersan yielded significant results:
- Reduced Total Cost of Ownership: The migration to BigCommerce significantly reduced the ongoing costs associated with platform maintenance, updates, and hosting.
